Kitschoutput Interpretation of Archaeology and Problems with the Commercialisation of Science

abstract
The aim of this paper was to analyze what are the
mechanisms and techniques of science commercialization
in the second half of the XX century. The object of the
analysis were the articles published in the years 1945-2000
in 5 leading popular sciences monthly magazines in
Poland. 762 articles were analyzed. Several techniques and
stylistic means were observed the aim of which is present
archaeology as a mysterious science, based very often on
the intuition, not on the scientific methods. There are
mistakes in dating, the facts are distorted in order to
support the adventurous character of the archaeology

Le but de cet article est l’analyse quelles sont les
mécanismes et le techniques de la commercialisation de la
science dans la seconde moitié du XXème siècle. L’objet
de cette analyse ont été les articles publiés dans les années
1945-2000 dans 5 les plus importants revues mensuelles
en Pologne, qui popularisent la science. On a analysé 762
articles. On a observé de divers techniques et moyens
stylistiques, dont le but est présenter l’archéologie comme
une science mystérieuse, basée sur l’intuition, pas sur les
méthodes scientifiques. il y a des erreurs dans al datation,
des faits sont déformés pour souligner le caractère
aventureux de l’archéologie.
